Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his initial championship for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a former number one, has endured a challenging year, winning just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in especial - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-time coach Cervara.
Presently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested competitive triumph over challenger Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden trophy since the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt after March of 2023.
Victory also signifies Medvedev has won 21 titles at twenty-one distinct events.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, including in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's retrieving play style and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had caused commentators to question if his capacity to compete at the highest level was concluded.
But the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an better serve.
The champion fought back from a break down in the first set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors traded break points in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden tour title, gained dominance to push for a third set.
He saved four early-game break points in a close deciding set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he clinched the title with a point at the net, with his opponent unable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
